A common task in Excel is to keep track of employees working hours.

Above we have a list of employees and some time-stamps.

Follow the below steps:

  • First we calculate the time between IN and OUT
  • =E2-B2
  • Next we calculate the duration of the lunch
  • =D2-C2
  • Finally put these two together
  • =((E2-B2)-(D2-C2))
  • One important thing to remember here is that I don’t change formatting, it is Custom.
